Throughout this fiveday inperson workshop, Core Country Teams (CCTs), supported by technical experts, resource persons, and partners, engaged in peer learning and collaboration to advance the implementation of the national gender and biodiversity priorities. The workshop helped countries refine and operationalize gender and biodiversity roadmaps or action plans that contribute to the achievement of NBSAP goals. The workshop also provided a space for countries to identify and engage potential partners and sources of support to help implement their roadmaps and sustain progress beyond the project.

The main objectives of the workshop were:

  1. Support countries in translating commitments into action. By refining national gender and biodiversity roadmaps or action plans and identifying concrete, country specific opportunities to align needs with relevant financial, technical, and institutional support.

  2. Strengthen peer learning and collaboration on gender and biodiversity. By enabling countries to exchange experiences, challenges, and good practices, and by fostering sustained peer-to-peer networking and collaboration.

  3. Generate actionable learning on co-identifying gender responsive and gender transformative biodiversity priorities and actions. To inform global guidance, enhance implementation processes, and support scaling across countries and regions.

Thanks to the professionalism, dedication, and responsiveness of the global project team, the event was delivered to the highest standard. The country teams had an excellent opportunity to showcase their achievements, exchange experiences, and learn from the innovative approaches and good practices of their colleagues.

The extensive discussions and professional facilitation fostered productive dialogue, enabling participants to identify practical approaches for implementing the remaining project activities and to explore effective ways of translating recommendations into concrete actions.
