There is clear evidence that the lack of an enabling environment for women’s economic autonomy, especially laws and policies, is linked to women’s experiences of violence by men. For example, in countries where legal frameworks did not support women’s equitable access to land, property and other productive resources, women’s experiences of intimate partner violence.
