Indonesia national consultation aims to stimulate an inclusive whole-of-society and whole-of-government dialogue on the main themes of Stockhom+50 as they relate to Indonesia context. To better inform the stakeholders about Stockholm+50, we started with the introductory webinars to the Stockholm+50 initiative in March 2022 with representatives from academia and universities, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The introductory webinars discussed the lessons learnt from Indonesia related to the main themes of Stockhom+50.

In the 2nd Introductory webinar, began with the welcoming remarks from Ms. Nika Saeedi, acting Deputy Resident Representative. Followed by Mr. Ibnu Wahyutomo from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Marina Berg, the Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, who gave the opening remarks. Three speakers from civil society organizations, Ms. Tasya Karissa from Biorock Indonesia talked about the different perspectives of communities and CSOs’ roles from her experience and research related to coral reef projects, especially how women's participation could make a difference. Dr. Mohammad Faisal from the Centre of Economic Reform explained the Green Economic development status, the challenges, and best practices from mangrove, waste and agriculture initiatives. Swietenia Puspa Lestari from Divers Clean Action introduced how Indonesian youths were taking actions to tackle marine plastic issues.

CSOs are expected to be the main actors in monitoring the impact of environmental protection policies, especially related to climate change issues. Genuine collaboration is needed from the state, private sectors, academics, and civil society. Collaboration between sectors is needed to realize a sustainable and inclusive recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, change the economic development paradigm, which only prioritizes high economic growth, to prioritize the sustainability perspective and inclusiveness.
