You are cordially invited to participate in an upcoming side event at the Fifth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5). The event will be held online and will produce recommendations for a post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework that promotes rights-based action to protect biodiversity, including by safeguarding Indigenous Peoples’ rights and ways of life.
Speakers will include Annika Strandhäll, Minister for Climate and the Environment of Sweden; David Boyd, UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment; and Francisco Cali Tzay, UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples.
