To mark the 5th anniversary of the landmark UN Security Council resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security, a high-level virtual event will be held on 09 December 2020 at 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM (EST).
The high-level event is co-hosted by the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in New York and the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, in collaboration with the Permanent Missions to the UN of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Dominican Republic and France, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Peacebuilding Support Office of the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (PBSO/DPPA).
The high-level event aims to take stock and commemorate the core achievements of the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda during the past five years, and explore future directions. It will also include an official launch of the Folke Bernadotte Academy’s (FBA) Handbook for Youth, Peace and Security Advisers and the joint UN/FBA Youth, Peace and Security Programming Handbook.
