Official HLPF side event for 2024 Voices of SDG16+ : Stories for Global Action video campaign. A collaborative video campaign to bring the work of civil society on SDG16+ to the HLPF.
“Bolstering Action on SDG16+ in Times of Converging Crises” is a virtual side-event following the sixth edition of the Voices of SDG16+ video campaign. It intends to highlight civil society work on SDG16+ from around the world with videos and stories of best practices and extraordinary efforts that local civil society practitioners undertake towards SDG16+.
The 2024 edition of the Voices of SDG16+ Campaign and the side event will focus on the transformative and enabling power of SDG16+ can help reinforce and bolster action on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in times of multiple, converging crises.
Selected videos will showcase how local practitioners lead the charge for 2030 Agenda as they incorporate an integrated approach to their work by recognising and acting upon interlinkages between SDG16+ and the SDGs under review at the 2024 HLPF. This interactive virtual side event will feature video campaign submissions, short presentations and discussions among participants to demonstrate how SDG16+ provides the foundation for shaping more peaceful, just and inclusive societies.
Voices of SDG16+: Stories for Global Action is a collaborative campaign to bring the work of civil society on SDG16+ to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York. Individuals and partners from around the world have had the opportunity to submit short videos telling their “stories” of best practices and extraordinary efforts being undertaken towards SDG16+ at the local and national level. During this side event organised at the 2024 High-level Political Forum selected entries will be presented.
