Clean and affordable energy is very important as all our day to day activities depend on it such as making food using stove, fuels in car, getting lighted up sometimes but side by side also it releases harmful greenhouse gases such as carbon-di-oxide and we should minimise the carbon emission as much as we can to control the climate change issue of global warming.

For the SDG7 on clean and affordable energy , the SDG that should be touched upon and should be focussed on the most I think is the SDG 8-economic growth, SDG 13-climate change and SDG 17-global partnerships. We should also see that there is inclusive growth for all SDGs alongside-the COP(community of practice) SDG integration is very important. Also equality is distribution. Once we talk about economic growth , my thought on this would be that banks and governments should be apt in spending on energy systems and should not hamper the people's livelihoods by spending more than desired by being unnoticing. This would then jump to global partnerships SDG which means that governments should reach out to all the public to say their needs so that authorities understand those needs and spend sensibly and in geographical areas where its required. People and youth should be willing to live in harmony so that they understand the need of speaking up their needs. Partnerships at all levels such as governmental ,downwards, upwards and delegation and decentralisation is important.

We can have inclusive development of all SDGs by focussing on these things ,also if economy runs sensibly, carbon emissions would reduce and there will be a just and inclusive access and distribution.

In villages, electricity is not available and hence they rely more than cities on fossil fuels for light and cooking because they don't even use much electric appliances for this purpose. The local governments there should be talking to its upper governmental sectors for providing things such as carbon installers which absorb the harmful emissions and for development of these rural areas by supply of electricity.

Coming to culture, this has embeded  in rural lifestyle that ladies will cook on stoves such as instead of using microwaves and for that they have no proper knowledge and know how of using electronic gadgets and also hampers gender equality. Development should be total.

Also there should be proper digital facilities and know how in villages also so that all can get access to knowledge and know-how of reaching to authorities and development of people should be there. Migration should be seen equally in the eyes of gender equality since ladies in villages still need to have a knowledge of electric appliance usages so that fuels use is also minimal. This would be by getting proper education from cities and mobilising.

Greetings twarita bajoria ! I am the Facilitator of the Community of Practice on SDG Integration, and thank you for highlighting the importance of integrated approaches to advance the effective implementation of SDG7. If you and other participants are interested in this topic, check out these two interesting articles: 1) 'SDGs in Action: A Novel Framework for Assessing Energy Projects against the SDGs', published in Energy Research & Social Science, Volume 68, October 2020 (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214629620301328), and 2) a bit older, but nevertheless a good perspective on this issue, 'Towards an Integrated Framework for SDGs: Ultimate and Enabling Goals for the Case of Energy', published in Sustainability, 5, 4124-4151, 2013 (https://www.oecd.org/gov/pcsd/Art%20Nilsson%20et%20al%20sustainability-…). Let me know what you think! All the best, Nadine

Hi thanks for acknowledging the basic highlights ...and I read the SDG integration document ...and what I think is that it's great to know and get knowledge of basic energy access and energy for economic purposes and also the three tiers and four layers system getting enabled ,with the three tiers being human well being ( at centre),resources and global public goods and the four layers including governmental decentralisation and public policy too(to coordinate ) which was matching with my thoughts too...ofcourse inequalities should be reduced and the upper income sectors should be minimising their usages and the resorces tier can be seen by access to renewable energy ...all that written in detail when I read I thought it really was what I was thinking in detail ...thank you
