United Nations system-wide strategy on South-South and triangular cooperation for sustainable development (2026-2029)
The new United Nations System-wide Strategy on South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development (2026–2029) provides a forward-looking framework to strengthen joint efforts and system-wide coherence in advancing South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation as core modalities of support provided to United Nations member states to achieve their development priorities.
As South-South and triangular cooperation continues to play an increasingly important role in the global development landscape, the Strategy will operationalize a new Global Alliance for South-South and Triangular Cooperation, providing a practical and collaborative pathway to connect ideas, mobilize partnerships, and translate solutions into measurable impact. By strengthening coordination across the United Nations system and enhancing the visibility, accessibility, and usability of proven solutions, the new policy framework aims to unlock the full potential of South-South and triangular cooperation as a driver of sustainable development.
