The theme of the third consultation has dedicated to “Updated NDC of the Republic of Uzbekistan and development of the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan”. The event brought together participants from various national ministries and agencies, international development partners as well as representatives of the civil society, academic circles, and community groups.
During the event, participants were informed about the features of the updated NDC in Uzbekistan and familiarized with the long-term planning of adaptation measures to climate change.
Uzbekistan is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change. The country is prone to problems associated with the lack of water resources, increasing desertification and land degradation, an increase in the number of droughts and other hazards leading to the instability of agricultural production.
Uzbekistan shares the opinion of the world community on the need to make every effort to prevent global climate change.
"Presenting the results of these actions is important in connection with the preparations for the international meeting "Stockholm +50", since one of the important topics of discussion are the NDC perspectives, including issues of adaptation to Climate Change".
