UNDP hosted a roundtable discussion under the theme "Our Opportunity to Accelerate Action for Sustainable, Balanced, and Resilient Transitions" to discuss Thailand's path toward environmental sustainability and sustainable development through the sufficiency economy philosophy for SDG localization as part of the Stockholm +50 Thailand National Consultations. The hybrid event brought together participants representing the government, civil society, business and private sectors and local communities in the northern province of Chiang Mai.
Topics of discussion focused on the urgent need for action to achieve a healthy planet while achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the acceleration of climate action towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the local context. This consultation will contribute towards the high-level leadership dialogue discussions at the Stockholm +50 international meeting to be held in Sweden this June.
