Sixty-five chimpanzees live on uninhabited river islands south of Liberia's capital Monrovia. They are the survivors of a group of 400 test subjects of a US-funded research project. Some of the animals underwent several hundred biopsies. Years on, the former lab chimps now enjoy veterinary care and two daily meals. See more here
