The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the government is leading the Stockholm+50 Consultations in Somalia. The objective of the consultations is to stimulate an inclusive, bottom-up debate/discussion on Stockholm+50 themes relevant to Somalia context. The proposed S+50 consultations in Somalia is expected to advance the different Stockholm+50 thematic priorities such as biodiversity, nature-based solutions, the SDG and Green economy, leveraging the NDCs as an entry point. The Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) of Somalia remains a key focus and the leadership of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) & Federal Member States (FMSs) will be important for successful outcome of the Stockholm+50 Consultation process.
The consultations will run from March to May 2022 and will be held in 3 Tiers (Tier 1: National, Tier 2: State level and Tier 3: Local levels).The first Tier 2 consultation meeting was held in Hargeisa, Somaliland on 27-26 March.
