GBV Integration Pilot in Lebanon: Final Results and Recommendations

Divya Chandran

Background

Since 2018, UNDP Lebanon, with its partners ABAAD and ACTED, have piloted a project integrating gender-based violence (GBV) prevention into Women’s Economic Participation (WEP). This initiative adapted the Indashyikirwa model for Syrian and Lebanese host communities and have been addressing the underlying social norms perpetuating gender inequality and power imbalances.

Looking back over the past four years, this webinar will provide the final results and achievements of the pilot. Drawing from our practice-based knowledge and experience in Lebanon, we will also be sharing lessons-learned from the pilot process. In the panel discussion, we will explore how this pilot and its findings can be applied to other projects at the local, national and international levels.

This webinar is the third and the last in a series of three online discussions on the experiences of the Lebanon WEP-GBV pilot. The pilot is part of UNDP’s global project “Ending Gender-based Violence and Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (2018-2022)”, which is testing new tools and approaches to reduce GBV and accelerate progress towards other development goals, such as economic empowerment and climate change.
