UNDP, in collaboration with UNFPA and the UN Youth Office, is implementing the project "Youth as Catalysts for Peace", with the support of the Government of Italy.
Despite growing recognition of young people as agents of peace, inclusion, and sustainable development, many continue to face persistent barriers to meaningful participation in governance and peacebuilding processes. The project seeks to address these challenges by strengthening youth participation and leadership and by supporting the implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda at country, regional, and global levels.
As part of this effort, UNDP is developing a Policy Brief that will examine existing YPS frameworks, with a particular focus on National Action Plans (NAPs). The brief will explore emerging practices, implementation lessons, strengths and gaps, and opportunities to strengthen the design and delivery of YPS policies and programmes
To inform this work, we invite young people, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and partners to share their experiences and perspectives through this consultation. We are particularly interested in innovative approaches, implementation experiences, challenges, and good practices that can help translate YPS commitments into meaningful and measurable outcomes for young people and their communities on the following themes.
The insights gathered will contribute directly to the policy brief, which will support practitioners and relevant stakeholders in developing and implementing YPS National Action Plans, provide evidence and recommendations for global policy processes, and inform broader reflections on progress and future priorities for the YPS agenda.
