Strong PHC systems are essential in improving health system efficiency, reducing health costs, increasing patient satisfaction and tackling inequalities by improving health outcomes across socio-economic indicators. UNDP, WHO and the UNIATF are therefore collaborating with the Gulf Health Council and Ministries of Health to cost primary healthcare arrangements in six Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Each project report provides an overview of clinical services provided in each country, a breakdown of service costs, and recommendations for strengthening PHC and resource allocation in the country.
