We are excited to invite you to Side Event webinar jointly organized by UNDP and Pan Africa ILGA as part of the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development. The event is titled “The Intersection of Justice and Poverty Eradication: A Critical Path for Africa's Marginalized Communities.”

In today’s complex global landscape, marked by challenges such as climate change, economic disparities, political instability and pandemics, the quest for sustainable development that is both inclusive and resilient is more critical than ever. Despite strides made, significant gaps remain, particularly concerning the inclusion and empowerment of marginalized communities, including sexual and gender minorities across Africa.

The side event aims to shine a spotlight on the critical intersection of justice and poverty eradication, specifically focusing on the empowerment of LGBTIQ+ people and other vulnerable communities. Through this lens of intersectionality, the event will underscore the importance of inclusive policies, practices and partnerships that not only acknowledges the unique challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ people but also harnesses their strengths and contributions towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063.

Date and time: 18 April from 9:00AM – 10:30AM GMT+3.
