Uses the effects of Hurricane Katrina, disasters in the Phillipines, Haiti, Indonesia and India to comment on the impact for the LGBTI+ community. Explores lack of services available post-disaster, violence and sexual assault in shelters for LBT women. Comments on resilience of baklas (a marginalised sexual and gender group) in the town of Irosin, Phillipines. Their help collecting food resources, relief goods etc. created a more respectful dialogue between them and the larger non LGBTI+ community, increasing their respect in society.
