Women Leading Peace across Generations: A high-level intergenerational discussion to celebrate the anniversaries of the women, peace and security & the youth, peace and security resolutions

As 2020 marks the anniversaries of both the women, peace and security, and youth, peace and security agendas, it is critical to increasingly recognize, protect and nurture the participation of young women in peacebuilding and sustaining peace.



Co-organized by UN Women, UNFPA and GNWP, this intergenerational high-level discussion of women leaders and women peacebuilders will bring actors with diverse backgrounds representing prominent and young WPS leaders to reflect on the implementation of the women, peace and security, and of the youth, peace and security agendas. Specifically, it will allow a deeper discussion on:

• Progress made and challenges in the implementation of approaches focusing on both WPS and YPS;
• Showcase the work of young women-led organizations in implementing the WPS and YPS frameworks;
• Ways forward to strengthen the synergies between the WPS and YPS agendas in the long-term post-pandemic realities.

Simultaneous interpretation in Arabic, French and Spanish will be available.
