The session will focus on driving progress toward achievement of the SDGs in the context of multiple and overlapping shocks, using analytics to understand today and foresight to better anticipate tomorrow. COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted the most vulnerable, and the overlapping crisis of food, energy and finance challenge the Agenda 2030 principle of reaching the furthest behind first. This session will explore efforts from the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), UNDP, governments and UN system partners to reimagine how we identify accelerators and build coalitions to take decisive action. The panel discussion will focus on partner country experience towards taking action on acceleration to reshape future SDG work in the countries, including challenges and the use of cutting-edge technology and systems approaches to drive SDG progress in uncertain, challenging development contexts.
