We are excited to invite you to the webinar series "The Digital Hour" organized by the Chief Digital Office (CDO). If you are interested in all things digital, and want to know how others across UNDP and from other agencies and businesses are using digital to maximize their impact, this webinar series is for you.

About this session

More than half of the world’s population lives in cities, where digital transformation is becoming critically important for improving public service delivery.

Starting in India, the eGovernment Foundation has been a leader in developing and implementing digital solutions for city administrations to deliver accessible, affordable, and inclusive e-services through open digital infrastructure and an ecosystem that brings the Government closer to its people. Today, more than 2 billion people in over 5 countries have benefited from eGovernment Foundation’s Digital Impact for Governance, Impact & Transformation (DIGIT) open-source governance platform, an accredited digital public good, that enables people’s ease of access to services through digital means.

Hosted by UNDP Chief Digital Office (CDO) with the participation of eGovernment Foundation, this learning session will discuss how digitalization of local governance and the provision of e-services can improve public services.

The discussions will also be complemented with actionable insights from Artha Global, whose work focuses on the structural transitions developing countries like India must undergo to achieve inclusive and sustainable development. In particular, the session will zoom in on the role of digital public goods (DPGs) as open, adaptable and interoperable solutions, and how they can be harnessed to address challenges of urban governance. Some of the emerging best practices towards ensuring inclusive digital transformation will also be discussed, drawing from DIGIT’s journey in urban India that covers over 800 cities.
