If you are interested in all things digital, and want to know how others across UNDP and from other agencies and businesses are using digital to maximize their impact, this webinar series is for you.

About this session

How should we go about creating a cyberhaven where our digital economies and societies can flourish? How do we make sure that UNDP’s digital initiatives reflect cybersecurity as a build-in standard?  

For answers to these questions, join us on Tuesday, 19 July 2022 for THE DIGITAL HOUR – LEARNING, a knowledge exchange dialogue that will focus on cybersecurity and the must-haves.  

With learnings and insights from UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina and CIPESA, the session will focus on the  key elements of an effective cybersecurity eco-system. Starting off with the institutional and legal frameworks, as well as governance processes that need to be put in place, the session will then deep dive into the operational side of protecting critical information infrastructure and look at how we can ensure that the capacity building needs of various stakeholders are accounted for. 

Background information: 

Digital technologies connect everything and everyone to applications, data, digital services, communication channels, etc. forming a new digital or cyberspace. As we continue to witness the digitalization of our daily lives and activities, words such as cybersecurity, cyber-attacks, cybercrime, and similar are increasingly referred to in our daily conversations. Securing people, organizations, and infrastructure in cyberspace is of the same importance as protecting them in the physical world.   

UNDP uses an inclusive, whole-of-society approach to the digital transformation of our societies. Every digital initiative on the country’s digital transformation journey should result in a solution that is available, accessible – and will do not harm. Digital initiatives therefore must reflect cybersecurity as a standard feature. Considering that cyber-attacks and other cyber incidents are becoming increasingly common, every country needs to build an effective system to protect and safeguard its cyberspace.
