UNDP, in partnership with Y+ Global and Frontline Aids through its READY+ programme, will be convening a regional consultation that will bring together young people in all their diversity across the SRHR and HIV space to discuss their current challenges, voice their needs and perspectives, about HIV/AIDS as well as broader sexual and reproductive health and rights, and shape the African Youth HIV agenda for AIDS2022

Objectives of the consultation

  • The regional consultation will serve as a platform for young people in all their diversity to voice their concerns, identify their needs and challenges, and shape regional and international agendas and priorities to address HIV/AIDS and SRHR-related challenges.
  • To reach as many youth movements and youth-serving organisations as possible to ensure the legitimacy of recommendations.
  • To amplify the voice of young people while reaching decision-makers and programme implementers through digital technology despite restrictions (travels, meetings/gatherings, stigma, and age-related barriers), safety concerns, and other requirements like physical distancing and parental consent.
