The Global South Women’s Forum returns for the seventh time in September 2022! In its third virtual iteration, GSWF 2022 is dedicated to the rights and plights of women workers under the theme “Equality and Justice for Women Workers”.

Aiming to visibilise the broad spectrum of women’s work and address the gross human rights violations experienced by women workers, IWRAW Asia Pacific – together with a network of dedicated collaborators – will convene the virtual Global Tribunal of Women Workers during GSWF 2022.

Taking place online from 24 – 28 September, with a special concluding event on 9 October 2022, the Global Tribunal will serve as an alternative, worker-centred space to demand accountability, strengthen solidarity, and advocate for evidence-based policies in alignment with international human rights and labour standards.

Refusing to be invisible, women workers are reclaiming their power and stories, addressing the perpetrators responsible for violations of the rights of women in work. Join GSWF 2022 and bear witness to a global worker-led movement!

The Global Tribunal will amplify the demands and realities of women workers and marginalised groups, and examine the existing accountability framework to ensure that injustices, both historical and current, are addressed. The event will focus on the following thematic areas:

  • Sept 24: Ending Gender-Based Violence And Harassment In The World Of Work
  • Sept 25: Care Work, Social Protection Decent Work & Informalisation
  • Sept 26: Health Rights Of Workers
  • Sept 27: Freedom Of Association, Collective Bargaining And Right To Unionisation
  • Sept 28: Wage Inequality, Living Wage, And Equal Pay For Work Of Equal Value
  • Oct 9: Findings And Recommendations Of Jury Working Groups
