About the event:
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused widespread societal disruption and continues to disproportionately impact women’s lives, both at work and at home. During this session, The World Bank, UN Women, and UNDP will discuss the unprecedented challenges faced by women employees and entrepreneurs. The World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law and Enterprise Analysis projects will present on the importance of closing the legal gender gap and will share specific findings on government responses to the pandemic related to childcare, access to court systems, and protecting women against violence, as well as the impact of crises on female-managed firms. UN Women and UNDP will then share insight on the COVID-19 Global Gender Response tracker.
