You can become part of the solution in #GenderAndMining! Join the 2021 edition of the Massive Open Online Course on Gender and Mining Governance.
This free course will take place from September 13 to October 10, 2021. This MOOC is a platform to develop skills & capacities in evaluating the impact of mining projects on communities, with a particular emphasis on women, including recommendations on eliminating gender-based violence in mining-affected communities. The MOOC will be facilitated in English, Spanish and French.
The 2020 edition of the MOOC was attended by 1,390 participants from 90 countries. According to a course survey, 97.5% of graduates reported they will use knowledge generated from the course to influence mining governance going forward.
The MOOC is co-facilitated by the Environmental Governance Programme (EGP), the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals, and Sustainable Development (IGF), and UNDP's Learning for Nature Programme. The EGP is a joint initiative of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and UNDP supporting countries to integrate environmental and human rights protection into the governance of the mining sector.
