The 2022 edition of The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World will, as usual, provide the latest updates on the state of food security and nutrition around the world, including updated estimates on the cost and affordability of healthy diets. Next, it will take a deep dive into how healthy diets can become affordable by reallocating support for current food and agricultural policies in ways that help reduce the cost of nutritious foods relative to other foods and people's incomes.
The report is based on an assessment process that explores the prevailing support for food and agricultural policies currently in place worldwide, the amount of support provided, the activities and actors supported, and how high this support is in the relative cost of food. Foods and promotion of unhealthy diets. Relevant analyzes and evidence-based guidance on the mix of alternative food and agricultural policy support that can help reduce the cost of nutritious foods are also provided, as well as how to manage the resulting trade-offs to ensure that agri-food systems are not only more efficient, but also sustainable and inclusive.
To the extent that the contribution of agri-food systems to the economy is significant in many countries, such support for alternative food and agricultural policies would also be important to enable an overall recovery. In this regard, the report aligns with the theme of the 2022 High-level Forum – “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”
It represents the participation of private sector companies and food processing, especially the Crystal Group Corporation for international trade and food processing, which is one of the companies of UNGM
M will attend. Hassan Al-Qalini, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Crystal Group Corporation
This year's theme, “Reorienting Food and Agricultural Policies to Make Healthy Diets Affordable,” is a clear reflection of the fact that the world has recognized that agri-food systems – and their transformations – are fundamental to rethinking the way we produce and consume food and the relationship between humanity and nature and what is on The stake is where the world redoubles its efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals.
