Decentralizing Development Finance through Capital Markets Integration in Cabo Verde

PUBLICATION

Read up on this brief which showcases how sustainable finance leverages capital markets and attracts impact investment for the blue economy, while pluralizing and decentralizing development finance. It offers empirical insights from Cabo Verde’s recent experience with sustainable finance to showcase how it may, under certain conditions, promote integrated yet decentralized responses to persistent local, regional and global challenges. This may be useful for informing policy approaches in other contexts, especially for SIDS, African middle-income countries, and others seeking to integrate capital markets into sustainable development financing strategies.

Collective Intelligence in Action: Using Machine Data and Insights to Improve UNDP Sensemaking

REPORT AND BLOG

Browse this interesting report and blog to understand whether and how Artificial Intelligence can be leveraged to support strategic coherence of projects by understanding of linkages between programmes, partners, and funding that our people and teams don’t necessarily always see. Their findings point to the potential value of this approach in identifying projects that can act as knowledge brokers/bridges, assessing the organic evolution of the portfolio vs. the strategic intent, and more! Review the Gitbook, the live repository/ hub for the documentation, code, and other deliverables generated during the execution of the "Portfolio Analysis for Strategic Insights" (PASI) project.

Preparing for the Next Global Health Crisis: The Role of Secondary Impact Modelling

POLICY BRIEF AND BLOG

Read up on this policy brief to learn about the modelling of major secondary impacts, such as disruption of public services, business and education, unemployment, food insecurity, poverty, gender inequality and mental health. Modelling secondary impacts can inform evidence-based social, economic and fiscal policies before (ex-ante), during and after (ex-post) an epidemic event. In the absence of such policies, the transitory effects of epidemics can become permanent. Jan Kellett, IRFF Team Leader, provides a summary overview of the ways this work can be useful to your work in this blog.
