Mauritius is part of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. Despite a high level of endemism, Mauritius’ biodiversity is at risk. Due to land clearing for development, pollution, invasive alien species and climate change, the country’s natural ecosystems are quickly declining. Without actions to alleviate anthropogenic pressures and protect natural habitats, many more endemic plants and animals will join the extinct Dodo bird.
The UNDP is committed to support #ClimateAction and #Sustainable initiatives that are essential to safeguard the country's rich #Natural ecosystem 🌿 This video was produced by the UNDP Mauritius country office under the Stockholm+50 Initiative, in collaboration with the National Parks and Conservation Services and the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation.
