ECOSOC’s Integration Segment meets annually to help UN Member States and others map ways to achieve the three pillars of sustainable development—economic, social and environmental.
In line with the redefined mandate of the Integration Segment (A/RES/72/305), the 2021 Integration Segment will be held immediately before the high-level political forum (HLPF) on 2 July 2021. The three Integration Dialogues will be held on 27 May, 3 June and 10 June 2021, respectively. All three dialogues will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. NY time.

Context and objective
The Integration Dialogues collect and share inputs from Member States, ECOSOC subsidiary bodies, other UN organizations and relevant stakeholders, with an emphasis on cutting-edge issues of global concern. Policy makers from national ministries attend to exchange experiences and discuss strategies to advance integration of the three pillars. Key findings inform action-oriented recommendations for follow up.
The 2021 Integration Segment is chaired by his Excellency Ambassador Juan Sandoval Mendiolea, Vice-President of ECOSOC (Mexico), and will discuss the combined UN system’s analysis and policy proposals on the 2021 theme of ECOSOC and HLPF on “Sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development: building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development".
