UNFPA STRATEGIC PLAN

2022-2025

UNFPA Strategic Plan 2018-2021

Welcome to UNFPA's Strategic Plan 2022-2025 Dashboard!

The  UNFPA Strategic Plan, 2022-2025, is the second of UNFPA’s three consecutive Strategic Plans to guide the organization towards achievement of its commitments – an end of unmet need for family planning, an end of preventable maternal death, and an end of gender-based violence, including harmful practices, which have been successfully positioned into the global, regional and national development priorities and triggered momentum for progress towards their achievement.  However, the world will not achieve the three transformative results and the sustainable goals by 2030 at the current rate of progress, including due to increasing uncertainties and threats from climate change, conflict and fragility.

The strategic Plan 2022-2025 will focus on the ‘how’ to accelerate progress and scale-up effective interventions, improve the accountability for high-level results,  and innovatively and adaptively address the emerging challenges, risks and crises, and root causes to realize resilient and sustained results. It will define organizational capacities and structures to transform UNFPA into an agile, innovative and resilient organization, to deliver on its ambitions in the context of the increasing uncertainties in the development landscape not least as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also harness the commitments and collaborative actions of the Nairobi Summit of UN reform, to ensure UNFPA fits for purpose in low income countries (LICs); lower middle income countries (LMICs) and upper middle income countries (UMICs).

In this regard, UNFPA would take this opportunity to engage with our stakeholders and partners on this critical and exciting journey to co-create the UNFPA strategic plan 2022-2025.
